As an individual, what goes into rearing a human life on Planet Earth (PE)? How much PE invests in each human in the current times? How much has PE invested in humanity in this species's entire existence, over millions of years? What does PE expect in return for giving so much to a single species, which has come to affect it's well-being in all possible unnatural ways?

These are a few questions which ground me and make me accountable for what I owe back to PE. In my enlightened moment, I captured the idea that what I can give back to PE is probably this:
  • For every day survived on PE, I could plant a tree.
  • For every Birthday that I celebrate, I plant as many trees, as the no of years that I have lived, as a bonus, for that particular day!
  • Motivate fellow beings to follow suit.

Trees owed to PE by humans:
  • Individually - As on date (16th Feb 2011), I would be 13,521 trees old!
  • Entire Human Species – With the last news of human population having crossed over 6.8 Billion, the complete human race could plant about 0.25 Trillion no. of trees; enough to cover all the barren lands of PE and to support Life in all it’s wonderful forms!
This figure (and more) is probably what PE has spent on us to keep us alive (as a minimum) and this is what we probably need to give back (to have no strings attached)! But, it would be very idealistic for us to achieve this target while participating in the evolution of the human race.

Achievable, if we were to plant:

  • 1 tree every day.
  • all the trees that we should have planted by taking a vacation/break.
  • as many trees, whenever possible.

Reality Check:

We could at least follow option 3 above and which is where it comes reckoning onto our subconscious belief, that it fits into our scheme of existence, of having contributed to PE...and being worth the while, when living on Planet Earth for it's and all the other life's sake (and not ours alone).

Every big manifestation starts small and this is how and where, we can contribute in our own way. So there...that's our story of a limited version of a "Greener Life”!!!
